The recycled claim standard (RCS) and the global recycled standard (GRS) are managed by Textile Exchange, and are designed to boost the use of recycled materials in the fashion industry.

Omnitau requires all polyester based fabrics adhere to the GRS, and to be certified as GRS 4.0.

The GRS includes a minimum 50% recycled content percentage and additional social and environmental requirements related to processing and chemical usage.

The objectives of the GRS are to:

• Align definitions of recycled across applications
• Verify recycled content
• Give brands and consumers a means to make informed buying decisions

GRS works by tracing materials from source to store, ensuring:

• Recycled material verification
• Responsible production
• Chain of custody
• Credible certification
• Confident communication
• Stakeholder engagement

Omnitau, as a finished goods producer and retailer, does not knit any fabric ourselves.
We require and hold on file in date certification for the manufacturers of all our fabric supplies made using recycled materials, which certifies conformance to GRS 4.0.
